As a USA Luge member club in good standing, your membership now includes insurance for both your sanctioned events and your registered club activities, as long as every participant is a USA Luge member. Five lines of protection, included with your membership:
- General Liability: $2M each occurrence / $4M aggregate. Third-party bodily injury and property damage from your premises and operations in sanctioned luge activity. Includes hired and non-owned auto.
- Participant Legal Liability: $2M each occurrence, a separate dedicated limit for athlete-injury claims, with $500K brain injury and $500K spinal sub-limits. Signed waiver required.
- Participant Accident Medical: $25,000 per injury, excess, plus $25,000 AD&D, for registered members in good standing. United States, Canada, or Mexico.
- Foreign Travel Medical: $250,000 out-of-country medical, $500,000 emergency evacuation, $250,000 repatriation, worldwide, for registered athletes and staff on a USA Luge-sanctioned trips abroad.
- Abuse and Misconduct Liability: $5,000,000 each claim, subject to SafeSport compliance.
- Every USA Luge sanctioned event, at every level (local, regional, national), covered automatically with no listing.
- Your registered club activities: practices, classes, lessons, clinics, day camps, tryouts, and intra-club events run and supervised by your club.
- Supervised team travel to and from covered activities, and international travel on USA Luge business. Liability is worldwide for sanctioned activities. Participant accident medical applies in the US, Canada, and Mexico. Foreign travel medical covers sanctioned trips abroad.
The one condition: your registered club activities are covered only while every participant is a USA Luge member in good standing. Keep every participant current, keep a signed waiver on file for each, and meet SafeSport and background-screening requirements. If a non-member takes part in a club activity, that activity is not covered.
What is not included
Your membership covers luge. It does not cover non-luge activities or programs that include non-member participants, your club building on a full-time basis or club-owned vehicles, club property and equipment, or business exposures such as directors and officers, employment practices, cyber, and crime. These are available as optional coverage at member pricing.
