USA Luge announces Fall 2026 National Team

LAKE PLACID, N.Y.— USA Luge today announced the members of the Fall 2026 National Team. The group features 12 Olympic athletes with hopes to build on the team’s success from last season, which resulted in ten medals, 38 top ten World Cup finishes, and an Olympic bronze medal won by Ashley Farquharson at the 2026 Milan-Cortina Winter Games.
Women’s Singles
2026 Milan-Cortina bronze medalist Farquharson (Park City, Utah) will lead a contingent of U.S. women with a combined nine Olympic Games appearances among them.
In addition to her bronze in Cortina, the two-time Olympian Farquharson won bronze at the 2025 World Cup in Park City and a silver at the 2025 World Cup in Lake Placid. She finished 12th in the overall World Cup standings after competing in seven out of nine races.
Four-time Olympian Summer Britcher won two gold medals at the World Cup races in Lake Placid and Sigulda, bringing her career gold medal total to seven, a USA Luge record for women. Britcher (Glen Rock, Pa.) finished in 14th at the 2026 Winter Games and was the only U.S. luge athlete to continue racing on the World Cup circuit after leaving Cortina with hopes of a top three overall on the season. She just missed the podium finishing fourth, despite not competing in the first event of the season.
Emily Fischnaller (Lake Placid, N.Y.), a three-time Olympian, will enter her 15th season with the National Team after placing 12th in Cortina and 26th in the overall World Cup season. She is also a two-time World Championship medalist.
Joining Farquharson, Britcher and Fischnaller will be Emma Erickson (Park City, Utah) who finished 36th overall last season.
Women’s Doubles
Following their historic run at the 2026 Winter Games as the first women’s doubles luge team to ever race on Olympic ice, Chevonne Forgan and Sophia Kirkby return this season. Forgan (Chelmsford, Mass.) and Kirkby (Lake Placid, N.Y.) won the bronze medal at the 2025 World Cup in Lake Placid, placed fifth in 2026 Games, and ninth overall in the World Cup standings.
Also returning are Maya Chan (Chicago, Ill.) and Sophia Gordon (Sussex, Wisc.). The duo, who served as alternates for the 2026 Winter Games, are eager to make a podium appearance after their season’s best fifth place finish at the 2025 World Cup in Lake Placid. Chan and Gordon landed in 11th place for the World Cup season.
Men’s Doubles
Following a gold medal finish at the 2025 Lake Placid World Cup, Ansel Haugsjaa and Marcus Mueller will return. Haugsjaa (Framingham, Mass.) and Mueller (Brookfield, Wisc.) made their Olympic debut in Cortina where they finished fifth. They also led the U.S. men’s doubles teams in the overall World Cup standings in fifth.
Two-time Olympians Zack DiGregorio (Medway, Mass.) and Sean Hollander (Lake Placid, N.Y.) will return after winning a silver medal at the Park City World Cup. placing 13th in the overall World Cup, and eighth at the 2026 Winter Games.
2024 World Championships team relay silver medalists Dana Kellogg (Chesterfield, Mass.) and Frank Ike (Lititz, Pa.) will return to round out the U.S. men’s doubles teams.
Men’s Singles
Two-time Olympian Jonny Gustafson (Massena, N.Y.) is back after placing 11th in Cortina and 15th overall on the season. He is joined by 2026 Olympian Matt Greiner (Park City, Utah) who placed 20th in his first Winter Games appearance in Cortina and an overall 25th place last year.
Joining Gustafson and Greiner are Hunter Harris (East Fairfield, Vt.) who was 35th overall, and Aidan Mueller (West Islip, N.Y.). Graduating junior Logan Barnes will join the National Team after clinching the gold medal at the 2026 Norton Junior National Championships and a bronze medal in the 2026 Junior World Cup in Lillehammer.
Tucker West (Lake Placid, N.Y.) has chosen to retire after a long and successful career, including three Olympic Games and multiple World Cup medals. USA Luge will issue a statement regarding his achievements later this week.
“We are extremely excited about the team that will be representing the United States this coming season,” said USA Luge CEO Scott Riewald.“It is great to return the majority of our Olympic Team and be able to draw from the veteran leadership they bring to the team. But at the same time, it’s wonderful to welcome a group of younger athletes who get a chance to build experience and show what they can do on the international stage. There is a lot to look forward to this coming season.”
The 2026-27 World Cup season will kick-off in Winterberg, Germany, with the 2027 World Championships in Innsbruck, Austria, February 1-7, 2027.
