USA Luge extends partnership with Fibre Glast

LAKE PLACID, N.Y. USA Luge today announced Fibre Glast has extended their partnership through 2024. Headquartered in Brookfield, Ohio, Fibre Glast will provide the team with fiberglass, composite materials, and related products to support the fabrication of luge sleds in an effort to help athletes find additional speed. 

“As we gear up for another season, we are grateful for the continued support of Fibre Glast in providing our athletes with innovative products and solutions to find more speed on the ice,” said Gordy Sheer, 1998 Olympic silver medalist and director of marketing and sponsorships for USA Luge. “We first came to Fibre Glast as customers, having been impressed with their extensive list of products, customer service and fast delivery. They are a powerful manufacturing ally.”

Fibre Glast began support of USA Luge in the run-up to the 2022 Games in Beijing. The new agreement takes the partnership through the end of 2024. 

“We are honored to share our products and expertise with USA Luge to help their athletes be the best they can be,” said Craig Harvieux, marketing manager, Fibre Glast. “We hope our products will help the athletes find additional speed and look forward to cheering on the athletes in the upcoming World Cup season.”

The 2023-2024 World Cup season will kick-off in the United States December 8-10 in Lake Placid. Until then, most of the team are training in Lake Placid, working in the refrigerated luge start training facility and Olympic/Paralympic Training Center.
